steve laviers motivators collective return with their second release on the excellent here and now recordings! following on from the success of the first 12 (which included jobu being licensed to the legendary jazz bizniz compilation series and a remix by reverso 68) these new tracks continue in the vein of raw, live, polyrhythmic grooves. on the a-side, boosters on is a driving energy-packed track with the former manu dibango rhythm section of noel ekwabi and conti bilong being impressively complemented by yam whos des morgan on congas and bongos. keys are provided by afrika mhkinse (who played with the late great miriam makeba) and faze actions multi-talented rob lee. trombone is laid down by tony trombony hayden who has played with numerous acts including quantic soul orchestra. last but by no means least, vocals come courtesy of hannah khemoh who has most recently been touring as backing vocalist for the incomparable grace jones! on the flip, r2 is a laid-back improvised afro-jazz session, with the musicians laying down some serious feel-good sounds. all this produced by rob lee in the faze action studio.

wow! can this label get ay better? after three absolutely rocking releases, jamie jones & lee fosss stupendous new label hot creations, unleashes another absolute corker of an ep! burnski (20:20, poker flat, morris /audio) & robert james (hot creations) deliver an irresistible slice of heavenly house pie. the title track >malibu< is something very special indeed, an effervescent, super-groovy, disco-tinged, house hybrid, with detroit inspired chords and a hooky-as-hell vocal too boot! the flip side features another choice cut from the same stable, >perception<. hot as hell, and again so, so catchy youll dance yer socks off! finally jamie jones delivers a fantabulous remix of >malibu<, adding a sweet guitar lick, a new vocal, and a monster of a breakdown and bassline! again another sure fire winner from the hot creation crew. burnski has recently released >coming home< on 20:20, whilst robert james and jamie jones have recently remixed last years >summertime< anthem by jamie for release on crosstown rebels in the very near future. these tracks have all been proving a hit with this summer wit the more discerning jocks. a fantastic release from a great talent, on a label that is proving to be one of the hottest around this year!
